Disaster Management

Tapestry has been selected by the Coordinated Assistance Network and by other leading national disaster relief organizations to provide multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional shelter and case management support for disaster victims and evacuees.

The founding partners of CAN include the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army, the United Way of America, NVOAD, AIRS and others.

The client intake, referral, service tracking, and case management tools--given their flexibility, are ideal for the unknowns that present during disasters. Even better, the content management features support disaster planning, just as the data sharing tools support long-term recovery.

Tapestry is also used by literally thousands of case managers to support KAT--Katrina Aid Today, funded by FEMA, and the Hurricane Recovery Program, funded by the American Red Cross, as well.

Indeed, during Katrina, Tapestry managed millions of records for individuals located across 40 states, and in up to 1,400 shelters. In addition, Tapestry became a switchboard of sorts, supporting data exchange feeds from the Astrodome to the White House.

Importantly, because Tapestry can simultaneously support different agencies and data intake models, Tapestry can support disaster management needs and 2-1-1, HMIS, Elder Care, volunteer coordination, and other community needs all from one cost-saving system.
