Boulder, CO - July 11, 2005 - VisionLink has been selected to provide client information sharing software for disaster victims across the United States by the Coordinated Assistance Network (CAN).
CAN is an unprecedented partnership among seven of the nation's leading disaster relief non-profit organizations. The founding CAN partners include: the Alliance of Information and Referral System (AIRS), American Red Cross, National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD), Safe Horizon, Salvation Army, 9-11 United Services Group, and United Way of America.
CAN supports the management and sharing of client information collected by national and local agencies during times of disaster. CAN works with these agencies to provide innovative solutions, such as information sharing tools, which support long-term recovery efforts and contribute to the efficiency and efficacy of donor contributions.
Noah Simon, Program Manager for CAN, said, "Working together with VisionLink, CAN harnesses the power of the Internet to deliver the widest possible array of services to those in need, reduce duplication of effort and, ultimately, help ensure that the right service is delivered to the right client."
VisionLink provides a comprehensive solution - Tapestry.
VisionLink is the provider of the nation's first statewide integrated 2-1-1 and emergency management system, the provider of what will be the nation's first statewide integrated 2-1-1 and Homeless Information Management System, and the provider of many statewide and regional deployments focused on youth services, elder care and more. VisionLink systems serve a population base of more than 20 million.
Since its inception more than a decade ago, VisionLink's operational philosophy, and community-based approach directly support the CAN objective. In times of expanding need and constrained resources, the integration of data for collaborative and client-focused response and support is the key to success.
Dr. Douglas Zimmerman, President of VisionLink, said, "We are pleased to be selected for this important operation. This use of technology to help people at the most critical times--during a disaster, and to use donor and other resources efficiently and wisely reflects more than a decade of design and operational experience."
VisionLink was founded in 1991 and serves three sectors critical to community success: human and social services, education and training, and workforce development. In addition to its software solutions, the firm offers nationally recognized consulting, strategic planning, and training services. The firm's Community Operating Systemâ„¢ is the only cross-sector software solution designed to address social services, education, and workforce development simultaneously. The CommunityOS architecture--modular and flexible, allows states and communities to deploy the components important to their success.
