Tapestry and LifeNet's Suicide Prevention Hotline Call Center featured on NBC's Today Show

Boulder, Colorado -- February 20, 2008 "Suicide rates are soaring among middle-aged people in America, " says Dr. Nancy Snyderman, NBC Chief Medical Editor for the NBC Today Show. LifeNet, a suicide prevention hotline and crisis intervention program, is working hard to address this issue. Their solution is to provide convenient 24/7 telephone access to people in crisis and also to refer people to appropriate treatment resources. Tapestry software is helping them do so.
Counselors at LifeNet's Suicide Prevention Hotline in New York City are doing whatever they can to save lives. LifeNet's call center, one of 128 centers around the country that comprise the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline Network, uses Tapestry software solutions by VisionLink to assist those in crisis situations. Using the Online Support Assistant module, the call response team tracks calls and provides much needed resources.
MHA of NYC Associate Executive Director Gerald McCleery says, "Mental health crises do not happen on a planned schedule. Having trained counselors just a phone call away, available around the clock, seven days week helps us to respond to needs whenever they occur. It is important that we have a comprehensive, searchable resource directory at our fingertips in these situations. Tapestry provides us with that capacity."
