Core Features

At the core, Tapestry provides a professional set of modules that you choose to deploy either for your entire partnership, or for specific agencies and organizations.  This is the key--with Tapestry different organizations and groups can use different parts of the system as they see fit.  In this manner you can build an effective partnership driven by your needs and your implementation schedule--not the technology.

Common to all Tapestry systems are the following modules:

System Speed

We will begin by mentioning something not typically included in "core feature" lists.  Tapestry provides absolutely amazing access speeds for your staff, partners, and clients.  After all, if you spend money on a slow system, every task slows down to the point of frustration for every user, every day.  How fast is fast?  More than 98% of all processes and server requests are handled in less than 1 second.  We even give you the tools to check the speed yourself.  Ask our competitors about the speed of their systems.  It's important. 

Site Builder

Imagine if your software system could grow with you.  With Tapestry it really can.  We are not talking about custom fields or configurable screens---sure we can do that.  What we mean by site builder is that the entire structure of your Tapestry system can be changed and adapted to meet changing needs.  Does a new agency want to join your partnership--but they need some custom content and tools? No problem.  Are you re-organizing your call center and wish you could deploy web-based pages just for them?  No problem.  Do you have some agencies that want one feature--say the volunteer module, while others do not?  Again, no problem.  The entire structure can be changed--no programming required.  Even better, the security and group systems are integrated into the site builder so that you can adjust the security system as you create new pages, sub-pages, and agency-specific capacities.

Calendars

System wide, agency-specific, individual, and special group calendars are built-in.  Use the month, day, and detailed day view to help organize events across your entire system, for specific agencies, and by individual.  The group feature (below) allows you to create groups and deploy a group-specific calendar as needed. This means your call operators can share their own calendar; your board of directors can do the same--but each calendar is private to the group.

Message Forums

Message forums provide threaded online conversations which can be deployed by topic, by agency, by group, or by season or location for that matter.  You decide what forums could support your staff, your clients, and which could support cross-agency working groups.  Message forums can be created on the fly by your system operator, and each forum can be established as an open or private forum, as well as moderated or non-moderated.

Agency Affiliations

Tapestry security and feature access is designed around agency affiliations.  This means that users are registered as affiliated with certain agencies--and this automatically enables certain access rights so that staff and clients of one agency may not have access to what staff and clients of another agency see--all within one Tapestry system.  This concept even works for reports--agencies can export data that relates to their agency, but not of another agency's work.  Of course, you can choose to collaborate and share information as well.  It is up to you as your partnership grows and matures.

Custom Groups

Integrated throughout Tapestry is the concept of custom groups.  This means that your system operator can create one or more groups on-the-fly (no programming required) and then align those groups with users and with various Tapestry features and modules.  This means you can powerfully deploy your system to precisely match the needs of specific groups.  Even better, if a group is not supposed to have access to a certain feature, the feature just "goes away."  Group members will not get an "access denied" message--the kind which makes users wonder what they have been excluded from.

System Monitoring

Included at no additional charge is a web usage module that lets you monitor the use of your system.  When are your peak usage periods?  Where are the users coming from? How fast is the system operating? How many hits? This and more is a click away.

System Administration Module

We also include a comprehensive system administration module for your system operator and lead staff.  We train your staff to use this module, and of course provide a Help Desk for any questions.  We've located in one place all the management, custom field, security, site builder, custom group, audit and user account tools.  We even give your system operator and lead staff direct access to every module in the entire system from a single page.  System management does not have to be complex--with Tapestry it is sometimes even enjoyable.

Data Ownership

By license and by contract the information you enter in Tapestry is yours. 

Code In Escrow

At no additional charge, you will be automatically enrolled in our code in escrow program.  Not that we are planning on going anywhere, but if something catastrophic happens to VisionLink, access to your data and to the software code is assured.
