Volunteer Management

Volunteering is an important tradition in the United States.  The abilities and skills that volunteers can bring to bear on important issues are absolutely amazing.  The task, then, is to make communicating with, coordinating, and managing volunteer placements as efficient and effective--and rewarding--as possible.

VisionLink's Tapestry includes a roster of volunteers--replete with information about their interests, skills, availability and more, as well as a directory of volunteer opportunities.  These volunteer opportunities can be managed from one or more centralized locations, or they can be managed by the individual agencies which offer opportunities for volunteers.

Similar to other Tapestry tools, this module can be deployed in an active or passive mode.  In the passive mode, this module simply provides powerful lists of volunteers and opportunities--both can be searched and contacts can be made as appropriate.  In the active mode, you can take advantage of either of two volunteer management modules which give you the ability to manage, broker, and track volunteer placements and activities.

Importantly, because Tapestry integrates volunteer management with client support functions, a single historical record for a client or user can capture all of their referrals, provided services, and volunteer placements.  You can truly integrate the "get help" and "give help" aspects of your partnership.

Even better, while volunteer opportunities can be searched directly, the opportunities are also directly linked to the agency, program, and service profiles of the providing organization. This means that users can search for help (for their elderly parent, for example), and find out how to volunteer, in one easy process.

And given the site builder elements in Tapestry, you can also choose to deploy the volunteer tools when you are ready to do so, and only for those agencies and organizations that want to offer volunteer opportunities.
